On the occasion of the annual bikers' service at St. Michaelis, several roads including highway A7 are temporarily blocked off. Up to 30,000 international motorcyclists come streaming towards the church to attend pastor Erich Faehling's service. There are speakers outside, so the service and the guest appearances of celebrity singers are also audible outside the church. When the pastor - who enjoys motorbike riding himself - sees the crowd off, the simultaneous roar of heavy bikes as they depart is a deafening spectacle.
