Linzergasse

Linzergasse, Salzburg, Austria

The Linzergasse has been the main thoroughfare on this side of the Salzach River from Roman times. It was the exit from the capital towards Linz, Vienna and the northeastern kingdom of the Habsburgs. This street, with its butchers, bakers, clockmakers, chemists and all those other things people need for daily life, has always been the counterpart to its elegant sister, the Getreidegasse. Beside the Sebastiankirche with its Sebastianfriedhof hotels, cafes, restaurants complete the picture.
