Chiesa EvangelicaLargo Panfili, Trieste, ItalyTel: +39 040630168 Built in 1874, this took over from the former evangelical church in Piazza Vecchia, which is now Piazza dell'Unita d'Italia. The style of the building is typically neo-gothic, reminiscent of the gothic buildings in Northern Europe. It was designed by the Prussian Zimmerman and built by Berlam and Scalmainini from Trieste who had serious problems with the belltower foundations. The organ was built by the famous Bavarian firm, Steinmayer, and is still in the church. The bells were donated by Guglielmo I. The simple interior contrasts with the gothic character of the church and the purity of the two funeral monuments by Antonio Bosa which were built in 1823.
