Negresco

This is Nice's luxury hotel par excellence. Built in 1912 by Romanian Henri Negresco, both the architecture and the beautiful pink dome that matches the sunset as it melts into the sea, give you an enchanting glimpse of what the belle epoque was like in Nice. Since 1957, hotel managers the Augiers have been doing their utmost to maintain the splendour and international renown of the Negresco. Should you be fortunate enough to spend some time here, you're sure to marvel at the antique furniture and the artefacts and paintings by an impressive list of legendary names including Rigaud, Mignard, Cocteau, Cesar, Arman or Picasso. Those not staying should still check out the royal lounge where there is a Baccarat crystal chandelier, weighing in at one ton, illuminating the largest Aubusson tapestry in the world.
