Palais de JusticeRue Foch, Montpellier, FranceThe building whose Corinthian columns face out on to the Avenue Foch was completed in 1853. The palace occupies a site long associated with power and justice. In the 12th century Guilhem VI built his castle on the site to ensure his rule over a rebellious city. During the 16th century the castle housed the Presidial and the site also housed the Imperial court following the French revolution. Most of the functions of the building were recently transferred to the new Palais de Justice by the sides of the Promenade de Peyrou. Admission: Free
