This is the house where the painter Francois Bazille was born, whose works are exhibited in the Fabre Museum. In his lifetime he knew Monet, Renoir and was reputed for his portrayals of the light and colour of the region where he lived. He became an important patron of the arts for painters of his time. Unfortunately he died young in the war of 1870. The Hotel Perier is situated in the heart of the city surrounded by the elaborate facades of former townhouses, decorated with sculptures. The 18th century courtyard and staircase distinguish this notable architectural and historic site. Admission: Free
