Iglesia del Carmen

Located in the centre in the street commonly known as El Carmen, this church was built in 1903 by the architect Jose Ortiz Portillo. The tower was added later in 1925, and designed by Lavin Casalis. Architecturally, it is very similar to another of the city's churches, the Iglesia de los Jesuitas; both are neoclassical in style. Inside, the main altar is the work of Angel Ferrero and the many oil paintings of the apostles are by Flavio San Roman. Mass is conducted at: 1p, 6p & 8p Mon-Sat; 9:30a, 10:30a, 11:30a, 12:30p, 1:30p, 6p & 8p on Sundays.
