Fundacion Marcelino Botin

This Foundation is in the center of the historic part of the city, behind Paseo de Pereda and very close to Banco Santander.Created in 1964, the organisation is currently involved in a number of different spheres. These include social work (marginalisation and hospital infrastructures) and research (medicine, environment and sustainable development).It is also involved in education and training through the provision of grants, workshops, courses and library facilities. The Foundation hosts conferences, talks, concerts and exhibitions and produces its own publications. It supports conservation and heritage work as well.The center's gallery holds a wide variety of work, ranging from classical Roman art to examples of modern regional and national painting.Admission is free.
