If you are planning to visit any of Boston's other historical sites, like the Bunker Hill Monument or the USS Constitution, this is also where you might want to visit first. Located next to the Old State House, this center has maps, brochures on different attractions, informational displays, a bookstore and very helpful staff members. Free guided tours led by National Park Service employees begin here as well.
