Amtrak serves Providence through this modern train station that commands interesting views of Providence the moment you step outside its doors. The front of the station faces the striking Rhode Island State House and the new Providence Place Mall, with easy access to Waterplace Park. The station is walking distance to nearby hotels (but cabs wait too), and boasts state-of-the-art facilities like Cafe LaFrance, a gift shop, and automatic utilities in the restrooms.
