The winding sculpted paths of Roger Williams Park lead you on a safari experience where you can view over 900 zoo animals. Giraffes, zebra, cheetah, endangered lemurs, and an open-air aviary are just a few of the 156 different species. History buffs enjoy the Museum of Natural History, and the Betsy Williams Cottage with an authentic colonial American Flag, stitched, legend says, by Betsy. Carousel Village offers a Carousel, and pony rides. Rolling lawns make a lovely backdrop to paddleboats as they float among swans on a lily-pad pond.

  • There are none.
  • Zoo staff was horrible and did not care for the animals, security was a joke.

“Do not waste your money or time. My car was broken into in the parking lot, while the parking lot security agent as in the lot! The animals were sickly and the staff did not seem to care about the animals or visitors.”

  • Loved the indoor viewing area for the giraffes and also in the Australia exhibit how the monkeys were right over your head.
  • No lions or tigers.

“It was worth the long trip to get there. The indoor viewing area for the giraffes and elephants is spectacular. I wish they had some lions or tigers though. Not the best zoo I have ever been to but worth taking the trip to see it.”

  • The polar bears are a must see

“A great place to bring the kids for a family or a place to go for fun date (when you are still in that aaoeletaas do something funaa phase). The zoo is not on par with the Bronx or San Diego Zoos, but there is a range of animals, a beautiful park to stroll around, and some fun little extras like paddle boats.”
