Few visitors expect to find such an impressive art collection in the middle of the prairie. Masterpieces abound here. The permanent exhibit includes works by El Greco, Degas, Monet and Renoir. 19th- and 20th-century art receive a special focus. The museum building itself is a striking, architectural find. Thirty-eight different types of marble were used in construction. The exterior glows a light pink, setting the building apart from the rest of downtown Omaha. Admission: USD7 for adults, USD5 students and seniors, USD4 children ages 5-17. The Peter Kiewit Foundation helps make admission times 10a-noon on Saturdays.
