Take a step back in time with a visit to this totally renovated art deco-style train station. Formerly known as Union Station, the museum boasts over 65,000 square feet of exhibits including the Byron Reed Coin and Document Collection, The Trans-Mississippi Exposition Gallery, restored train cars, a teepee, an earth lodge and more. The Museum is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. Temporary exhibitions are also offered.

Admission: $6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 children ages 3-12, children younger than 3 are free.

  • Tons to do.
  • Not enough time.

“The Museum is s real treat. You can spend a lot of time wondering through the permanent exhibits that include Nebraska and Midwestern history. My favorite parts were the Byron Reed coin collection and Union Station Gallery. There are also traveling and temporary exhibits that are equally as interesting. I would save an afternoon and go check out the Durham Western Heritage Museum, its sure to be fun for everyone. There is a 1930's style soda fountain that you can get a treat at. There are special events at the museum that you can be involved in like Christmas at Union Station.”
