Times Square

Named after the New York Times, which moved here in 1924, Times Square is a vibrant, neon-lit area in the heart of the Theater District. Once populated by peep shows and sex shops, it has undergone a complete image overhaul. Hotels, office towers and commercial businesses have sprung up. Disney has moved in, as well as Conde Nast. Megastores and theme restaurants have also set up shop. Times Square remains the city's favorite venue for New Year's Eve, where a huge street party is highlighted by a glitter ball dropped from Times Tower.

  • Everything.
  • Too crowded .

“Wow! I had dreamt about this moment forever and finally I was there. It was all I could of imagined and then some. I would not live in New York, too crowded for me, but I will become a frequent visitor.

Our Lady Liberty makes you proud your an American.

Empire State Building Awesome. Words can not describe the beauty of the city at night.

You must go for yourself to experience the city that is one of a kind and world famous.”

  • Lots of shopping and restaurants
  • Can get crowded

“This ain't your Daddy's Times Square! No, Mayor Rudy cleaned up Times Square quite a bit during his reign as NYC mayor. Now every store from Disney to Sketchers has a flagship sopt hocking wares to the masses. Not too many really good restaurants, but I like Chevy's Tex Mex a lot. (Very fresh if you like Mexican.) The area is also much safer than it used to be, has police everywhere and is missing its' once signature porn theaters and window-washing squeegee men. You can also find lots of Broadways shows and plenty of decent hotels in the area.”
