James Renwick, Jr., who later designed St. Patrick's Cathedral, was commissioned to design Grace Church at the age of 23, and it remains one of the city's finest examples of neo-gothic architecture. Grace Church is located at the first bend on Broadway, which follows a straight path from downtown until this point. The building is currently undergoing extensive restoration.
