From these humble origins, the church has grown into a 1,500-seat French-Gothic cathedral, dating from the early 20th century. It played host to Pope John Paul II in 1983 during World Youth day. The cathedral's towering frame is a work of art, with 75 stained-glass windows, ornate decor, and imported marble. Outside, twin spires rise 210 feet above the street. Call to schedule group tours.
