Raw Soul is more than a bookshop selling African-American books -- it offers food for the soul. It hosts ongoing classes and holds yearly events for the African-American community. Lively entertainment comes in the form of musicals, games and the Jankanuu Masquerade. In addition to books, the shop sells handcrafted jewelry, cards and imports. Although geared toward promoting and raising awareness of the African-American community, Raw Soul has hosted a wide range of ethnicities.
