A prime example of 19th-century architecture, this historic landmark is housed in the Grand Center district and is now home to an environmental advocacy group. School participants are educated in recycling consciousness, energy efficiency, water conservation and other environmental concerns. The Victorian-style decor and design are enhanced by an elegant garden, cared for by the Missouri Botanical Garden. Built in 1885 and restored in 1993, the 4,500 square-foot, three-story building has become a must-see tour stop. Tours are by appointment only.
