Soulard Farmer's Market730 Carroll St, St. Louis, MOTel: (314) 622-4180 The history of this market goes back to 1779, when a bunch of people got together to sell and buy produce and other products and to socialize. A couple of hundred years later, the market is still bringing together people from diverse backgrounds. The unique collection of goods found at the market includes live fowls, fruits and vegetables, freshly made donuts, choice cuts of meat, spices and other tempting treats. The prices are competitive with, if not better than, those at supermarkets, but it is the interaction between locals and visitors that creates the ambience of this market.
