“The mansion itself is beautiful and worth visiting. The reason for my low rating is the horrible tour guide that ruined it for my daughter and myself. Rather than giving us a tour of the mansion, he insisted on telling us every single irrelevant fact about the 8 governors that lived in the mansion. He made us stand in the foyer while he lectured us, fact by boring fact, on every single one. All we wanted to do was see the mansion, learn a little of its history, and enjoy the visit. We were so upset with his tour that I made the excuse that we had another appointment and needed to leave. He never did get around to talking about the home itself - any information we got on the furnishings or architectural features was because I specifically asked about them. He was too busy trying to give us the information that he felt was interesting. It was just horrible - words really can't describe it adequately.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in SacramentoView all attractions in Sacramento
