Casa Rondena Winery733 Chavez Rd, Albuquerque, NMTel: (505) 344-5911 • Web: Visit this site » The North Valley is home to many impressive structures, and Casa Rondena is one of the most unique. This Moorish castle encloses a huge wine making operation that produces respected cabernet and sauvignon wines. The winery's Serenade is a fruity, slightly dry dessert wine. Most wines sell for less than $20 a bottle. The owner and wine maker spent 20 years in southern Spain, where he learned his art, and found himself enthralled by the Moorish architecture. Mountains and streams meander across the grounds that are surrounded by the giant cottonwoods of the Rio Grande Bosque.

“A hidden gem in the north valley, the architecture is like nothing else in Albuquerque. There is a tasting room where you can sample wines made on the grounds, and stroll through the vineyards. In the back is a patio where you can bring food and sip your wine by a lovely pond and fountain. I love to bring guests here when they come from the airport, a great way to unwind and take a slow drive down Rio Grande Blvd.”

“Beautiful place but has a very non attentive staff and it is overpriced for the type of wine I tasted. There are far better establishments for wine in the Jemez area and up in northern New Mexico that have friendlier management and fine wines.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in AlbuquerqueView all attractions in Albuquerque
