“By the end of this tour, I was nearly overcome with emotion. This museum is a must for anyone visiting Memphis. The museum is actually built onto the Lorraine Motel where MLK was shot. The tour is self guided and is best if you purchase the audio headphones for only $2 more. The exhibits are well presented with as many true historical objects as possible such as the bus Rosa Parks was on and a burned out bus Freedom Fighters rode on. The rooms that MLK was in before his death are very moving. While not able to go out onto the actual balcony where he was shot, you are able to view it. Across the street, the museum is expanding. There are lots of exhibits about the shooter, investigation, and trial. There is a viewing from a window to the balcony of the Lorraine, probably just as the shooter saw it. This museum was the highlight of my trip.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in MemphisView all attractions in Memphis
