Coolidge Park Carousel1 River Street, at Coolidge Park, Chattanooga, TNTel: (423) 757-7629 Over a century ago this carousel was abandoned in a New England amusement park. A group of local investors found the tattered remains and hired a company of artists to restore the grand merry-go-round, adding new horses, sleds and other animals so it could be admired at present home in Coolidge Park. Children can ride atop a valiant steed for a mere 50 cents and parents can join them or watch from the comfort of a nearby rocking chair.

“From the point of view from a wheelchair the accessibility to get on the carousel we had to lift the wheelchair. A portable ramp would take away the safety risk and humiliation. The beauty of the hand carved animals and the building it is housed in is wonderful. The ride is fun for all ages.” Popular Attractions in ChattanoogaView all attractions in Chattanooga
