Many of the most important and beloved jazz musicians of all time have come from Alabama, and a surprising number of these came from Birmingham. In the beginning of the 20th century, Birmingham was a training ground for musicians who went on to great fame the world over.

“Small but excellent museum. The theater is in use all year round, doing a good educational job.
