Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House1110 Penn Street, Fort Worth, TXTel: (817) 332-5875 English architect Howard Messer designed and built this magnificent home in 1899 for Fort Worth "Cattle Baron" William H. Eddleman. The house is situated on a high bluff overlooking former pastureland and features stoic, towering gables, meticulously ornate trim, a red sandstone porch and copper finials in a traditional Victorian exterior. The interior is also exceptionally elaborate, with dark parquet floors, magnificent oak paneling and original, handcrafted wooden framework accents.Eddleman left the home to his daughter Carrie (Mrs. Frank Hays MacFarland), and it has largely been kept in its original condition. It is open from 9a-3p Monday-Friday, with tours taking place each hour from 10a-2p. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 12 get in free. Group or weekend tours are available by special arrangement.
