  • Cool safari trip.
  • Needs more people.

“Houston IMAX playing the 3D movie Safari was really neat. It feels like you're right in Africa. It was my first 3D Imax.”

Sam Houston Race Park
Jul 3, 2007 by Cathi from Houston
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Betting windows and machines.
  • Valet parking is a long way from the seating areas!

“Great venue for horse racing as well as other events. Do wish that children were not allowed at the races. I love children, but some places are not appropriate for kids. The food served in the main dining areas and the clubhouse menu is really quite good, although service is slow during peek times. I do love the horses, so I'm a big fan of Sam Houston Race Park! Glad, the owners come up with ways to bring in revenue during the off season so they can afford to keep the track, the facilities so nice.”

Delmar Lanes
Jun 26, 2007 by Michael from Houston
Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Well maintained, quality lanes.
  • Small house.

“Del-mar has undergone a recent renovation. The run down little house has re-emerged as a well appointed family bowling center. With all new top of the line Brunswick pro Avalon lanes, and Brunswick furniture, the place is a pleasure to bowl. The parking lot has had a major renovation, as well as the outside of the building. Ex-pro carol Norman has her pro-shop in del-mar, and you'll find none better at fitting and drilling bowling balls than carol. If you haven't been there for awhile, I suggest you stop by and bowl a couple of lines. You won't be disappointed.”

Six Flags Astroworld
Jun 21, 2007 by Keith from Baytown, Texas
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • No more lines?
  • Nearest park is san Antonio.

“It's great. If you like a field of knee deep weeds, because Houston, one of the largest cities in the united states, no longer has a major amusement park! Sold for real estate development. Well, that's progress. Guess we'll take the grandchildren to the horse racing track instead. They'll really be thrilled with that. Unbelievable. An area with over four million people and you'd think there would be enough interest to support an amusement park. Aw what the heck, forget the kids, let's make money and sell condos.”
