Beachcomber Campground Inc

  • Playgrounds for kids, pools clean, nice beach and lake.
  • Rude and unhelpful staff, charges for everything, too crowded, not enough space per site.

“Beachcomber presents itself as a camping resort. A resort it is not! more like an overcrowded parking lot with a few trees. It may have been nice a few years ago, but it is now way over-crowded. There is barely enough space for a trailer + 1 car, the cabins look dingy and also have not much space. This campground seems to favor those who have permanent sites, as those seem much more spacious and in better locations. My husband, 11-month old baby and I visited a family at Beachcomber. We were charged $8 per person (including baby), plus $8 for the car - and we were only staying a few hours! When asked about the baby charge, the rude response was "it creates waste". My husband then needed to use the restroom, and was told he would have to pay a pavilion use charge. All around the registration office were signs about additional charges for usage of various facilities. When we got to our friends' site, it was barely larger than a parking lot, and we could hear conversations from inside the next site's camper. There were tons of kids on golf carts zooming around, and because the roads are dirt and stone, each cart that went by made a lot of noise and kicked up dust. Overall I would not recommend this place as any type of vacation. If you're looking to be backed like sardines, pay extra charges for everything you do, use dirty bathrooms, and have lots of noise around you - this is the place for you. Otherwise stay away! Our friends have already stated they are not coming back, as they have experienced rude service and staff, their facilities are dirty and unkempt, and they feel too crowded with the other people there.”

  • Pool.
  • Swamp, and lack of security.

“Lake Laurie was the most disappointing campground we experienced. No security, tall grass on our campsite, that we had to beg to be cut and then they were going to charge us 25.00 till we told them we were not a permanent site. Swamp like grounds all around us, bitten by many insects, we had to be pumped out daily for sewerage at a daily charge. The pool was nice but again very unsupervised. Alcohol was being consumed at the pool openly. Grounds has a great opportunity to be a classy campground if owners would pay attention. We hope to see great changes in the future for this unique part of Cape May, please!”

  • Cabin was clean, but no shower, just a toilet.
  • Poor treatment, no help in leaving early.

“I would not stay here again.”
