Village Bowl
May 14, 2008 by Nick from Fort Wayne
Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3

  • Good specials.
  • Poor lane conditions.

“This center gets mixed reviews. They offer fairly good specials and you can get a lot of bowling in for less money. However, with less money comes suffering quality. Village Bowl has always been known for its inconsistent shot and rare lane oiling. This lack of maintenance threatens to drive the lanes into disrepair, as they are already 30 years old. Since it has come under new management in the past couple years, very little has been done to improve this center, while allot of costs have been cut. Overall, this is a place for families to come and bowl a few games and have fun. If you are a serious bowler, I wouldn't suggest coming here as you are likely to bowl on lanes that haven't been oiled in a few days and have quite a high number of games bowled on them. You might as well just bowl on your driveway for all it matters.”

Orchard Gallery Of Fine Arts
Jan 8, 2008 by Beth from Fort Wayne, IN
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Gorgeous art and handmade gift items- nothing made in China!
  • They are closed on Sundays.

“I can't believe The Orchard Gallery has been around for almost 25 years, and I have just recently discovered it! It is a co-op gallery, so each time I visit, there is an artist working to patiently answer my questions. There is beautiful jewelry, pottery and glass, along with paintings on the walls. From what I understand, most of the art is made locally, but some from different parts of the country, as well. I had no idea there was so much talent in Fort Wayne! I have visited the gallery 3 times in the last 6 months they change the show every month, so it's fun to see what's new! Always friendly.”

Riverbend Golf Course
May 21, 2007 by Robert from New Haven IN
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Nice greens fairways.
  • The darn water hazards.

“I used to work there. The owner run Larsen is very friendly. His son is superintendent. When I worked there I mowed the putting green and a few hills cleaned the golf cars and parked them. Hey any youngsters reading this lance have a volunteer program for you. You work 4 hrs. A week for free golf that's right free golf! You also get free hotdogs and free soda pop. Overall the course gets a rating of ten from me. ”

Riverbend Golf Course
Mar 13, 2007 by tom from lansing
Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7

  • Greens were bigger and better on the back nine.
  • Very few sand traps, fairways were not the best - but again, this was opening day (3/14/07).

“Golfed in early spring so conditions were good for opening day. Staff was very friendly. Price was right. Front 9 circled a lake while back nine was longer but more open. Golf was worth the money but would agree with golf digest rating - no more, no less.”

Pro Bowl West Inc
Jul 17, 2006 by Brandon from Fort Wayne
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • Best bowling alley in Fort Wayne, by a landslide. No competition. Cheapest, best quality. Doesn't get any better.
  • No loud music, even on weekends, and no cosmic bowling, so not as fun-friendly perhaps, but best for serious bowlers.

“Wonderful bowling alley. I've only had one run-in with an unfriendly staff member in the 6 years I've been going there. The lane quality is unmatched, there is a convenient and reasonably priced cafe in the alley, the room is exceptionally large and clean. And of course it is splendidly cheap. The best place for both serious bowlers and for families, but young teens who enjoy the cosmic bowling to loud music at some of the other alleys might be disappointed to discover that Pro Bowl does nothing of the sort. Still, the cheapness combined with the quality of the whole place makes it the best bowling alley in the city, even with the lack of disco balls hanging over the lanes. ”
