Camping On The Gulf Holiday Travel Park

- The heated pool is very comfortable and the kids enjoyed it during the chilly weather.
- Too pricey, poor service, not enough staff on site to keep the facilities clean.
“Camping on the Gulf certainly wasn't anything near our expectations. While the beach is beautiful and the water is breathtaking, the campground is way too expensive for the services and amenities on site! We spent the same amount at this campground as we would have paid for two weeks elsewhere. The bath houses were roomy but you had to get there early for them to be clean. If you bring your own golf cart, be prepared to pay additional fees as this park charges you to use your own cart. And you must stay under 4 1/2 miles/hour while driving as they actually have speed signs that will flash at you if you go over their limit. Don't even think about driving after dark (although their rules and regs state that you must have lights on your cart for after dark driving). They boast of a $2 ice cream cone that they conveniently shut down the machine after they took our money and served a 1/3 cone of watery ice cream then told us that we could come back in two hours for a free cone within two hours. You'll need to carry your trash to the park dumpster located by the bath house. Before we left, they management made our neighbor move 3 sites down from a slip he had been in since January. He was staying through the end of May but was told a spring breaker would be needing his space for the week. When we asked him how they could just make him move he replied, 'You evidently haven't been here before. They move people from slip to slip all day long. We made the best of our vacation and enjoyed our time together but had I known what we were in store for at this campground, we would have made reservations elsewhere. We will not be return to this campground.”

- Great pizza and cheap beer.
- Opens at 11am.
“Newly remodeled and technically updated, Hurricane Lanes is a great place for bowling on the Emerald Coast! Open 7 days a week, and famous for the Hurricane Bowl, Hurricane Lanes is the home of 26 Brunswick bowling lanes, all equipped with a state-of-the-art touch screen scoring system. Whether a novice or league player, this is a great place for family outings, parties and social events. Bumpers are available upon request so the little ones can enjoy themselves also. A full line pro shop, the spare time cafe and a full liquor bar with drink specials add to the appeal. Friday and Saturday nights feature a live DJ, black light bowling, and an amazing 360 degree sound system and high tech light show!”

- Great staff, friendly,clean park.
- Quite costly.
“We stay here every spring (early April) for a week for many years now and really like this park. Great location, beach walks, close to malls, visit Blue Angels (1 hour away), lots to do and see or just relax. We are going back in spring 2009.”

- Bath houses are convenient and kept clean. Family friendly.
- Pets are allowed but most of the guest ignored the scoop the poop thing.
“My grown children invited me along on there camping vacation this year. I had a wonderful time and was impressed by the family atmosphere. Activities available for everyone. Beach area is easy to access. Area was quieter then I would have imagined with all the children riding bikes and playing. Adults were having just as much fun as the kids. Easy to tell which university the guiet supported because team flags were flying! The beach houses were kept clean by the housekeeping crew and were certainly utilized by the quest. area is close to shops of all kinds and check out the Pizza place across the street. Yum and they will deliver right to the camp site. We will do it again, that is certain!”
