St Martin's Church

- The whole experience of visiting the church.
- No negatives.
“This place is amazing and hidden amongst hundreds of shops. Crowds of shoppers walk past it every day but I wonder how many have been inside. It is amazing. Small and perfectly formed with masses of history to it. I'm not a church person but it is a very beautiful, peaceful building and a visit there is a perfect break from the hustle and bustle outside.”

Lendal Tower

“Lendal tower is now part of the de bretton group. When I visited the Marmadukes hotel in York I was surprised at how well the tower was looking. Especially at night time. I was told by some staff in the hotel that this tower is now going to be open and used mainly for weddings and conferences.”

York Dungeons

- Staff work really hard, great for children.
- Does not scare adults, effects very basic no high-tec stuff here.
“You are guided through a series of set scenes by actors these are a plague surgery, a moorland graveyard, a mirror maze, a meeting with a barbarian king, a sinners court, a torture chamber and dick turpins execution. The actors work really hard and are dressed in realistic costumes and most children would really enjoy it, as it is designed for families the actors stop short of really scaring you. A great one for children and families but one to miss for adults or those with either very young or sensitive children. Once you start you follow a set route with a tour group, and at the very you exit via the scariest place of all. The gift shop.”
