Volcan Arenal
Aug 12, 2008 by Ally from Salt Lake
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • La Fortuna, Desafio Adventure Company, Arenal Volcano.
  • Cockroach in my hotel n San Jose.

“I loved the little town of La Fortuna near the Arenal Volcano. There were so many things to do there. I wish we would have based ourselves out of there to take advantage of more activities. We did do the whitewater rafting on the Ro Toro -- it was like non-stop action! Then we did the canyoneering with the same company DeSafio and by far that was the best thing we did in Costa Rica! Even the lunch was amazing! We also did a volcano hike (the live, bright red lava was definitely cool) and finished the night in some local hot springs. Monteverdi was nice -- a total change of pace and we decided to go to the Caribbean at the end. Costa Rica is really a diverse, but easy country to get around. We all had a great time!”

  • Great teachers, good food, fun classes, very nice people.
  • Have to pay for the food separately and to use the phones.

“I attended CRLA when I studied abroad in Costa Rica last summer. I spent 5 weeks along with 6 other students from Georgia Southern University. Speaking on behalf of all of us- we loved it! The teachers are awesome! The people there are so nice and helpful. We all enjoyed the classes and learned a lot of Spanish!”
