Brisbane River (The)
Oct 31, 2007 by Katie from Sydney
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8

  • I liked that the boat wasn't too crowded.
  • I didn't like that the water wasn't blue.

“I went out on a getaway cruising vessel and it was great. Some of the other boats seemed much run down, but the one we were on was quite luxurious. They gave us a great lunch and we went boom netting while we were on Morton Bay. What a hoot that was? It was nice to Brisbane from the water and going out onto the bay was fabulous.”

North Stradbroke Island
Apr 22, 2007 by Sharon from Christchurch, NZ
Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • No high-rises, casinos or crowds, little traffic or shopping. Great beaches, scenery, wildlife & weather.
  • We could have done more if we'd had our own transport.

“We loved our few days there relaxing and unwinding. It's great that it hasn't become all 'tourist'. There are some nice cafes and restaurants, otherwise nightlife is strictly day. The pub has lovely views; I hope it doesn't lose its laidback atmosphere in the redevelopment. Wonderful walks and wildlife, friendly locals. Only drawback was buses not running after about 7pm, which made going out for a meal a bit of a problem. For a great day out take a 4 wheel drive tour with bill - his brochure will be in the rack at your hotel/motel. Very unassuming, hugely knowledgeable and speaks from his love of the island, not a script.”

North Stradbroke Island
Aug 30, 2006 by zena from brisbane
Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • This place doesn't believe in traffic or traffic lights lots of bush land.
  • Customer service for me was limited didn't see much of it.

“This island is so close to Brisbane yet it does not contain one traffic light and no big construction sights it has few high rises and is a very relaxing quite place with tranquil views isn't for the party goers I don't think definitely for those who just want to relax. ”
